Vehicle Fleet Publications

State Fleet Publications

The Office of Vehicle Fleet Management (OVFM) is responsible for the creation and regular updating of several publications key to the efficient and managed stewardship of state fleet resources. The primary documents generated by OVFM are provided through links below. For information about historical documents not provided in the following links please contact OVFM staff.

State of the Fleet Reports

The OVFM develops the State of the Fleet Report which summarizes and analyzes state fleet data provided by state agencies and institutions of higher education.

House Bill 3388 exempted four agencies from their reporting requirements to the Texas Fleet System. The exempted agencies are the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department(TPWD). The Office of Vehicle Fleet Management has not reviewed the data from the exempted agencies and is not responsible for the data's accuracy. Any questions regarding the data presented below should be directed to the agency in question.

State of Texas Vehicle Fleet Management Plan

This plan is for use by state agency fleet managers and others in regard to state vehicle fleet operations and reporting, and contains information about reporting in TxFS, active fleet size, waivers, alternative fuel usage and other useful information. Should you need to contact OVFM, or have any questions about the plan, please contact Caleb North via email, or at 512-463-4535.
